We are always in need of Fosters. If you are willing to foster a dog, you will be saving a life. Our fosters are responsible for the day to day care of the dog, giving lots of love and affection, and for helping the dog prepare for life in his or her forever home. We ask that you also be willing to make the dog available to attend Adoption events and if you can to attend with them, Lifelong Buddies will provide food, bowls and a bed for the dog as well as all Veterinarian care including flea and tick medications and heart worm prevention, Fosters may have a dog for anywhere from 3 to 4 days up to 2 or 3 months. We have no way of knowing how long it will take to find a forever home. We understand some fosters have limited availability and we will work with you and your time lines to ensure we can place the dog somewhere else if you are unable to continue fostering. We prefer however, that dogs are able to stay with their original foster until they are placed in their forever home.
If you would like to help by volunteering to be a dog handler at any of our adoption events, we would love to have you! You must be at least 18 years old. Most of our events take place at the Petsmart in Maryville, however we may have special outings at other locations. We will train you as a handler to hold one of our dogs on a leash and tell potential adopters all about the dog as well as our adoption process. You will take the dogs on potty quick breaks, clean up after them and keep them company while helping them find their forever homes. We always have multiple dogs at these events and the time passes quickly. We usually attend events for about 3 hours. At the end of the event you will help us load the dogs back into the transport vehicles. It's all easy and fun!!!
